We freight outboard motors to all Australian states and territories. Flat-rate freight of $220 applies to orders under $5,000. Orders of $5,000 and over are shipped free of charge. In-store pick-up is also available at our South Melbourne store.

A flat freight rate of $220 (inc. GST) applies to all outboard motor orders with a total value below $5,000 AUD (inc. GST). This rate covers delivery to any metropolitan or regional address in Australia.

How Long Does Delivery Take?

Transit times are estimated from the date of dispatch from our South Melbourne warehouse. Actual times depend on the freight carrier's schedule and may vary.

Delivery typically takes 2–10 business days depending on your location within Australia. Metro areas in VIC, NSW, QLD, and SA are generally at the faster end of this range, while WA, NT, TAS, and remote or regional postcodes may take longer. Orders placed before 12:00PM AEST on a business day are generally processed for dispatch the same day, subject to payment clearance. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order has been dispatched.

How In-Store Pick-Up Works

Place Your Order Online Add the motor to your cart and select "Pick Up In Store" as your delivery method at checkout. No freight charge applies.

We Prepare Your Order Once payment is confirmed, our team prepares your motor and performs a pre-dispatch inspection. We will contact you by email when it is ready for collection.

Collect During Store Hours Visit us at 85 Tope Street, South Melbourne VIC 3205 during store hours. Please bring your order confirmation email (printed or on your phone) and a form of ID.

Load and Go Our team will assist you to load the motor safely. Please ensure your vehicle is suitable to transport your chosen motor's size and weight before collecting.
Important: Do not travel to the store before receiving your "Ready for Pick-Up" notification. Orders are typically prepared within 1–2 business days of payment confirmation.
How We Prepare Your Order

Packaged for Safe Transit

Outboard motors are large, heavy, and precise pieces of equipment. We take care to ensure every motor leaves our store properly prepared for road freight.

Manufacturer Packaging
Where possible, motors are freighted in their original manufacturer packaging, which is engineered to protect the engine during transport. Motors are secured upright or in the manufacturer-recommended orientation for transit.
Pre-Dispatch Inspection
Each motor undergoes a visual inspection before dispatch to confirm it is in new condition and free from any transit damage incurred between manufacturer and our store. Any concerns are resolved before your order leaves our facility.
Marine Freight Carriers
We use freight carriers with experience handling marine and engine equipment. This means your motor is handled by staff familiar with the weight distribution and fragility requirements of outboard motors rather than general parcel handlers.

What to Do If Your Motor Arrives Damaged

Despite careful packaging, freight damage can occasionally occur during transit. We have a straightforward process to handle any transit damage reported within 48 hours of delivery.

It is important that you inspect your motor at the time of delivery and note any visible damage on the carrier's delivery documentation before signing. Signing without noting damage may affect the outcome of a freight claim.

If you discover concealed damage after unpacking — damage that was not visible on the outside of the packaging — contact us within 48 hours of delivery. Do not operate the motor if you suspect internal damage from transit.

Contact us at info@waveengines.com.au with your order number, photos of the damage, and a description of the issue. We will manage the freight claim process with the carrier and keep you informed of progress.

If Your Motor Arrives Damaged

Inspect on deliveryCheck the packaging for visible damage before the driver leaves. Note any damage on the carrier's delivery docket before signing.

Photograph everythingTake clear photos of the packaging exterior, any visible damage to the packaging, and the motor itself once unpacked. Do not dispose of packaging materials.

Contact us within 48 hoursEmail info@waveengines.com.au with your order number, photos, and a description of the damage. We require notification within 48 hours of delivery.

Do not operate the motorIf the motor has sustained visible structural damage, do not attempt to start or run it until the claim has been assessed and resolved.

We manage the claimWe will liaise with the freight carrier on your behalf and provide updates on the outcome. Resolutions may include repair, replacement, or a credit depending on the nature of the damage.

Yes. In-store pick-up is available free of charge at our South Melbourne store at 85 Tope Street, VIC 3205. Select "Pick Up In Store" at checkout. We will notify you by email when your order is ready for collection. Store hours are Monday to Friday 8:00AM–5:30PM and Saturday 8:30AM–1:00PM.
Do you ship outboard motors internationally?
No. At this time we only ship outboard motors within Australia. We are not able to fulfil international orders or ship to freight forwarding addresses for the purpose of export. All orders must be delivered to an Australian address.
What happens if my motor arrives damaged?
Inspect your motor on delivery and note any visible damage on the carrier's delivery documentation before signing. Contact us at info@waveengines.com.au within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the damage. We will manage the freight claim with the carrier. Do not operate the motor if you suspect transit damage.
Can I change my delivery address after placing an order?
Contact us as soon as possible at info@waveengines.com.au if you need to change your delivery address. Address changes can only be made before the order has been dispatched. Once a motor has been collected by the freight carrier, we are unable to redirect it to a different address.
